I have read a lot of books and write extensively on the subject and this book is excellent. When I first picked it up I opened the book to a chapter called “Interns make coffee not social media strategy and immediately thought that the authors comments were spot on. If you only buy one book to bone up on why social media is important this is the one. It’s so good that I am going to feature it on my website ([…]). I highly recommend this book it’s a great read.

Liana Evans explains the new marketing in as grass roots way as possible yet this is not a book only for newbies. Being a Search Engine Optimization expert shows in her writing and helps the reader understand how to mix the advantages of Facebook, Twitter with other time tested marketing efforts. The book explains the tools you need and emphasizes the goal setting aspect with examples of tools that I had not come across before. One of the examples is the Foresster Social Technographics Profile Tool for analyzing Customers […](spoiler alert !)

Business owners, marketing professionals, students of marketing should read this book. Books specially new media books get dated very fast due to the nature of the social media landscape. The author has made efforts to focus on long term strategy goals so you may be able to use this book for a long time.

I have taken numerous classes related to social media, and none could wrap up everything this book gave me. This book is useful for large corporations to small businesses and even individuals who may just be looking to market themselves through a blog. When I first got this book, I went straight to the chapter, “Bloggers Have No Boundaries.” It seems that everybody has a blog these days, and this chapter was most insightful for me.

This book gives you all of the tips you need to get started, and to stay ahead in the social media marketing game. It will help you determine who your social media expert should be within your company, and explain how every employee plays a part in a company’s social media strategy. There are great real-life examples of what to do – and what not to do – when it comes to social media and your business. The chapters are quick, easy reads and well organized.

The final chapter sums up the book nicely and gives clear explanations on what you should do next. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in marketing.

Whether you have a large or small business, this is the one book that you must have if you’re thinking about doing anything with Social Media. If you’re not thinking about it, then you’d better pick it up as well, because your competition sure as heck will.

Liana Evans is a well known speaker who practices what she says, and has very eloquently written a book that anyone can use as their guide to the world of Social Media. The real world examples within the book highlight her points perfectly. The chapters are laid out in bite size format so you’re able to digest several concepts at a sitting, and you’ll find yourself reading and re-reading this book over time.

I heartily recommend that you pick up a copy of this book.
