There are various types of online businesses, namely, selling goods on e-bay, amazon, clickbank, being a virtual assistant, a copywriter, offer coaching advice, online network marketer etc.

What is becoming very trendy and what is expected to be in high demand is that of being an infopreneur. You get what you know and turn it into a product.

This info will then be packaged in your preferred version, whether, an e-book, audio cd/s, downloadable pdf files, coaching sessions, 1 to 1 consultation, membership site and so on.

There is a whole process but very do-able.
