1. Always respond. To the good and the bad. Let your audience know that you’re there with them. Let them feel like they have a direct line to the show hosts.

2. Listen Intently. This is a huge mistake most people make. They want to push their own agenda and it doesn’t work. This audience is the key to success, and they’re telling you exactly what they want. “Give the people what they want!”

3. Be consistent. So many who have failed did so because they didn’t adhere to this rule. Update consistently and produce fresh content on a schedule. People come back when they know they could be missing something. Humans are creatures of habit. Help your audience create a habit out of you.

4. Content is King. Today, he/she who has the gold does not make the rules. They simply have more money to create more content! Status updates, photos, blog posts, events, episodes, shout outs, discussion boards, press releases and articles (like how to guides). All of it is content, and you should always be adding more.

5. Create Value in Everything. This especially applies to rules two and four. Always be sure what you’re posting has some type of appeal to your audience. Find out what they want and tailor your content accordingly. When people find value in what you’re saying they post comments, share it and make it viral, and that’s the goal!

6. Make it special. Create incentives for people to join your network and tune into the shows. Make them feel like they’re a part of something exclusive and fun, even though anyone can join.

7. Stand out. The average Facebook user is connected to 80 fan pages, and Facebook has over 30 billion pieces of new content posted EACH MONTH. You’re competing for attention, how are you going to get it?

Facebook has now grown to become the largest social networking website on the internet with over 200 million users. In fact, it’s ranked #2 behind Google. And the speed that Facebook is growing is faster than Google – incredible! So, if you are not marketing on Facebook, then you are losing out on this goldmine! You need to take advantage of this HOT social platform, learn the effective Facebook marketing strategies and put more money in your pocket.

Like the other social networking sites which are meant for socialising, Facebook is no different – it allows users to make friendships and socialise. This social media offers you the opportunity to let people know who you really are and this can help you to build relationships, credibility and trust before people can decide to do business with you.

In order to build long-lasting relationships you need to get the basics right. What kind of a person are you showing up as on your Facebook profile? Image is very important – you need to upload your nice, smiling, positive-looking picture (not your pet, family or business logo). This is Facebook remember? 🙂 Your profile should tell a story about you and display your personality – put up ALL the information about you (hobbies, interests etc.)

Social media is like being at a party – would you hit everyone attending the party with your business opportunity and website address at the first encounter? If you do that, people would be annoyed,walk away from you and never wish to talk to you again. A fact is, social networkers do not like to be SOLD, period. They HATE being bombarded with endless offers and opportunities. I see a lot of people posting links to their businesses on your page or sending them to your inbox. And to make things worse, you don’t even know them – in most cases, they don’t even say hello.

They are simply not interested in you, but in ‘building’ their business. They don’t care about you and what you need — otherwise, they would have taken the time to build a relationship with you first to find out how they could best help you and wouldn’t just shove their opportunity or offer at you like that. Would someone who doesn’t know you at all, show up at your house and put up their business sign by the side of your house? — NO!! So, why are people doing it virtually?

Why would you want to sign up with them anyway, as they are not offering any value? It’s always advisable to think about how you would feel if you were approached in that way. A fact is, marketing the RIGHT way involves “getting into the mind” of your prospects, without pitching and arm-twisting!

I would like to share with you the fundamental Facebook marketing strategies so that you can be able to attract people to you rather than annoy them with your countless business offers. I personally have a great success with Facebook and I’m able to generate FREE leads on a daily basis without doing much. I also connect with my new subscribers to show that I am a real person who cares about them and wants to help them. I also have people contacting me, interested in what I have to offer without me pitching them my business opportunity!

The Facebook marketing strategies that I use consistently, have made a difference in my network marketing business and have increased my sales too. It’s not rocket science… Your objective should be to lead with value, build relationships, offer solutions to people’s problems and help them get what they want. When you do that, you will ATTRACT the interested people to your business and they will then start selling themselves on your products and services – as easy as that!

So, NEVER lead with your business, trying to force your opportunity or products down the people’s throats. Focus on getting to know people on a personal level. Build relationships, and give value then the rest will follow.

In the last article on Facebook we looked at the 7 Fatal Sins that will Kill your Facebook Marketing Strategy. In this article I am going to talk about things that You need to focus on to build out a super successful network of people who listen to and respect you. Following is my list of 7 Must Do’s to Maximize your Facebook Marketing experience… use them and prosper!

1. Relationship first / Business Second – Get this one wrong and you will never build significant influence and your time will be better spent somewhere else.. Your primary goal on Facebook MUST be to build relationships and to build rapport with your new friends. So how do you do this… Simple… Comment on their stuff… interact with them.. get to know them read their profile etc… Show genuine interest

2. Concentrate on Quality not Quantity – many folks get on facebook and try to add as many people as possible.. instead slow down and be sure to build rapport with your new friends.. a smaller more connected group will outperform & more importantly out value a larger less connected following. Please do not underestimate or try to circumvent this part of the process. A good idea is to start with a very small Core group of people that are Influencers in your niche, build a relationship with them first and then build out from there.

3. Protect your Reputation at all Costs – Your most valuable asset in Social Media is your Reputation… Make sure you rise up as the go to person in your industry or niche. 67% of people will consult with social media sites for recommendations BEFORE they buy anything. so you want to build the reputation of someone that people trust and go to for advice. Don’t give into the allure of spamming for a quick buck not only doesn’t it work but you will kill your reputation and a bad reputation is very very hard to turn around. (All though not at all impossible)

4. Be Authentic – Be a real person.. it is ok to be vulnerable and to show your shortcomings… this tells people that you are truthful and genuine.. People will be able to connect with you at a deeper level and the trust will build exponentially. In other words you do not need to be nor should you be Perfect. Be yourself… like attracts like. Believe in YOU.

5. Transparency is Paramount – There is nowhere to hide online anymore so don’t try to… If you don’t like a product or service don’t Promote it just to make a quick buck.. it will come back to haunt you. you will slowly lose your influence and your social power will disappear. You will find less and less response and interaction as people realize that you are not always sharing the full story. In-transparency.. (if there is such a word..lol) will lead to mis-trust.

6. Follow Through – When you set out to do something follow through with it… If you make a statement make sure you see it through.. people are watching you. The great thing is 9 out of 10 people will never see anything through so you jump above 90% by just seeing your task through to the end. It is very important in the eyes of your followers. Be a man or woman of your word.

7. Be Interested not Interesting – The most important person in the world to your follower is YOUR FOLLOWER! so what does that mean.. be interested in them… listen more and preach less.. People are most interested in themselves so indulge a little. Ask people Where are you from / What do you do / Who do you know. This will expose commonalities, connections and similar interests. Think of benefits for THEM in your communication.

What & the marketing strategies to get you notice? I live in a city of 1 million people and I am planning to start my way through the election of my community which is about 200.000 people.I have no experience but I am young and I believe in social medias sites in a way to touch people and to be connected with them and the reality, issue & probels of my neighborhood.I heard that Obama won the election partly thanks to Twitter and Facebook.I have no contact in my country with politician and no experience in that field.I just want to get started and first through social media sites.So what would be your advice for a strategy, the danger, strenght, weaknesses of Facebook & Twitter in my case…if you would like to share some pratical and general ideas, please, I am listening to you.Thank you very much.
