Things to Hate About Cheap Web Hosting

Things to Hate About Cheap Web Hosting

In life everybody likes to get something for a cheap price and web hosting is no exception. Here’s the rub, along with a cheap price tag can come some very unwelcomed annoyances that will have you pulling your hair out and questioning your decision. While you may have been taught that it is bad to hate anything, there are certainly things about cheap web hosting that will make you break that rule.

Again, saving a buck or two is great, but here are some things that you will certainly hate with some cheap web hosting:

• Customer service: Many cheap web hosting services are cheap because they skimp on many things, one being customer service. Yes they may provide customer service, but it will more than likely come in the form of limited customer service. You know, call Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. That’s great until your site goes down after hours or on the weekend. Even worse, there are some cheap web hosting services that only offer e-mail customer support. This leaves you to play the e-mail tag game and a simple problem that could be resolved in minutes on the phone could take you days via e-mail. This will certainly get you wondering exactly how much you are saving with the cheap service; after all if your website is down you are more than likely losing money.

• Advertisements: Sometimes you can find unbelievably low priced web hosting, even free, but there is a catch. To compensate for the savings they offer you, they will put up advertisements on your website. This may not sound like a big deal but if your website sells shoes and the cheap web hosting company decides to put up an ad for dog food, your site looses credibility. Again the savings may not be worth it in the long run.

• Unreliability: Cheap web hosting means that your website will be housed on cheap servers. In simple terms; your website will be down more often. If your site is down all the time you are losing money and remember, if you have a web hosting service that has that great e-mail based customer service then your aggravation will only be multiplied.

• Speed: Have you ever gone to a website out of curiosity and got frustrated with the amount of time that it was taking the site to load on your computer? What did you do? If you are like most people you clicked off the site faster than you clicked on. Well chances are that the website owner of the site you wanted to check out went with a cheap web hosting service that offered very slow data transfer rates. While that will indeed save you money, in a world where everyone wants it now, a slow loading website is certain online death.

You have to weigh the good with the bad but you should know that you can still get great service in a web hosting company and not pay an arm and a leg. True it may not be the cheapest there is but you will certainly not be pulling your hair out and cursing at your computer screen when you see that your site is down yet again.

Jason Kay recommends reading reviews of cheap hosting sites to find an affordable, reliable web hosting service that meets your needs.

7 Tips To Know About Pay Per Click Advertising Before You Sign Up

7 Tips To Know About Pay Per Click Advertising Before You Sign Up

Entrepreneurs everywhere are always looking for the next best way to advertise their products and/or services. One way to advertise on the Internet is known as cost per click (CPC) or pay per click (PPC) advertising. According to Wikipedia, the free, online encyclopedia, pay per click advertising is where advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser’s website. Advertisers bid on keywords they believe their target market would type in the search bar when they are looking for a product or service. When a user types a keyword query matching the advertiser’s keyword list, or views a page with relevant content, the advertiser’s ad may be shown. These ads are called sponsored ads or links which appear next to, and sometimes, above the natural or organic results, or anywhere on a content page.

Depending on the demand of the product or service you are selling, pay per click advertising can be highly effective. However, the only sure way to know if people are interested in your product or service is to use all of the traditional less expensive ways to advertise first and rate your success of each. Pay per click advertising is not cheap and is a gamble. Some of the top keywords used to describe the product or service you are marketing may be as high as .00 or more per word. Anyone considering this advertising medium must have a budget and be willing to create, change and renew ads frequently. Oftentimes, you may find yourself having to “babysit”, then as you notice your ad and keywords are bringing traffic and making sales, you won’t have to sit at the computer as often.

Before you decide to sign up with pay per click companies, be sure you know what to expect.

1) First, be sure to scan your computer with fully up-to-date anti-malware solutions, because there is a network of computers that are infected with Clickbots. These computers are being used to defraud ‘pay per click’ systems, registering clicks automatically and providing lucrative returns for the creators.

2) When deciding on a pay per click company to advertise your product or service, take the time to research business forums for entrepreneurs, sites that report rip-offs and search blogs to find out others’ experiences. Be sure to type in the name of the company in the search box at these sites to see what others have written about it. Some companies have been known to offer high price services to create your ads and submit it to search engines that aren’t at the top, then they take some of your advertising dollars and invest it in their own search engines.

3) How much does it cost to sign up? Are there additional fees? When will you be billed? What is the fine print when it comes to free trials? Know the answers to these questions before you sign up. Provide a gift card instead of your bankcard information when possible. Gift cards that can be used as credit cards will give you better control over your budget and some online security. This way if for some reason your campaign doesn’t work out, you discover fraudulent business practices, etc. you won’t have to be concerned about money coming out of your bank account and possibly incurring overdraft charges. If you must use your personal bank account, keep a close watch on your statement and contact the company right a way if you see anything questionable.

4) Make a list of as many keywords related to your product or service. Know how much your top keywords will cost. Review others’ campaigns for about a week or two, if you still notice those companies are advertising their products, they may be doing well. Visit a few of your competitors’ sites to get ideas on possibly more keywords.

5) Formulate three different ads all advertising your specific product or service. These ads will be rotated and whichever one does the best, you will use that same ad at other pay per click companies.

6) Know which country and/or state your will be advertising in before you sign up. Some countries do better than others because they may not be as saturated with your product or service like the United States.

7) If you should notice your ad campaign is not doing well and you proceed to stop it, be aware that the site may not stop running your campaign until 24 hours later. Meanwhile, you will continue to accrue clicks and charges.

All About the Great Big World of Internet Advertising

All About the Great Big World of Internet Advertising

The advertising and promotion of products and services takes center stage if one is to have any success in business. Over time, through the course of the evolution of internet, experts found that the World Wide Web could be used for the purposes of advertising and marketing of products. This gave rise to the concept of Internet advertising.

There are various core components of the process of advertising on the internet, which includes Search Engine Optimization, Pay per Click, Search Engine Marketing, Hyper Linking, Directory Listing, and Article Submission amongst various others. All in all it’s a unique combination that offers a potent combination of targeted marketing, scalability, an ever growing audience, capability of tracking results, affordability, and highly desirable demographics.

The Importance of Scalability

An online ad campaign has a tremendous reach, and as opposed to a television commercial, advertisers do not spend too much money in the process. In the normal process of advertising, if you want to expand the size and reach of the ad campaign, you might need to publish your ad campaign in additional magazines or show them across more television channels.

Not so in the case of internet advertising. Herein, you can expand the size of your advertisement campaign, by the click of a mouse or just by sending an email.

Targeted Audience and Messages

You cannot have target oriented advertising, when it comes to the print or broadcast media, with regards to the audience. If you use the internet to advertise your products and services, you can focus your ads on the kind of audience who you have more chance of selling the product to. More importantly, you can also configure the messages in ways such that they can target the niche groups that would be receptive towards your products and services.

Cost Effectiveness

Internet advertising is cost effective. The great thing about this type of advertising is the fact that you pay for the services that are essential and beneficial for you. It offers you a competitive advantage with regards to price and if you compare it to other forms of advertising, you will find that it is infinitely cheaper. Also, you get your moneys worth when it comes to web centric advertising. Suppose you bring out five hundred ad impressions, you will assuredly know that five hundred people are going to see your advertisement.

Tracking of Results

Traditional forms of advertising have a tendency of shooting in the dark. Also, the detailed tracking and measurement of the ad and its result is a process that consumes a lot of time. When it comes to internet advertising, the process is that much simpler and many online advertising experts offer their customers the benefit of detailed information regarding the result of their advertising campaign.

Such information is available in an instant manner so that you can use all the available data to adjust your ad campaign and mold it towards increased efficacy.

As can be seen, the various benefits of internet advertising are good enough for the creation of a successful advertising campaign for your products and services. It has given a boost to the prospects of many a business.

Question by thinkpink82981: The best internet advertising at the lowest cost?

Ask friends or go to networking meeting and ask people if they will allow you to place a link on their website to your site…also make sure that you give out your web address on business cards, etc. Give friends, work colleagues small gifts for recommending your website to others such as starbucks gift cards, you can obtain them in amounts of even 10.00… Ask permission to put up your business cards or flyers with your website on them in local gyms, coffee houses, veterinary clinics, salons, car dealerships (try to get them in places that are also relevant to your business…you said retail…so I’m not sure what kind of business, exactly…) Good Selling!!!

Newbie Internet Business Series Part 3: All You Need to Know About Internet Home Based Business

Newbie Internet Business Series Part 3: All You Need to Know About Internet Home Based Business

Congratulation in joining or seriously considering starting home based internet business! However, that it is a world which will enrich your life, while at the same time it drastically changes your life style in many ways:

1. A different world. Internet business is an entirely different game like nothing else you know before! You are dealing with a virtual, immense and global world.

2. No face-to-face interaction with customers. You develop a network of customers or contacts who you never meet face to face, only by names and e-mail addresses.

3. No office perks. Internet is a home business. There are no office facilities and no staffs around you, which mean it is a lonely world.

4. No boss. You have no one who leads you, or a boss who gives you guidance and direction. You have to be your own boss, meaning that you make or break on your own.

5. No immediate result. Internet business requires a lot of time and effort before it eventually produces result.

6. Irregular working hours. Internet business requires a lot of hard work. Unlike the offices which has official working hours, you are working in extended hours, often with very little break.

7. Intensive education. You have to learn a lot of new knowledge how to be the best home based internet business (including internet terminology, basic softwares, web designs, many websites and different techniques of marketing in a short time).

8. New roles and professions. You are the Jack of all trades. You have to do many things yourself, assuming the roles as marketer, designer and writer.

9. Home stay. Your business is an internet home based business. It means that you will be at home most of the time. This is an excellent opportunity for you to get closer to the family, with less socializing outside.

10. Resistance from your family members. Most people are unwilling to pay the immediate price of change; therefore they do not change, and resist the change. When you become the best home based internet business will change your home life. Your family might resist change, particularly those who have to change the most.

We realize that as Alvin Toffler said, “Change is not merely necessary to life — it is life.” But, how do you carry on with the change which happens as you embark in internet business? Here is how:

1. Change your mindset.

This is the important first step. Ross Cooper said: “The only way to change our lives is by changing our minds.” To reprogram your ‘blueprint’, you must understand the following key elements of change:

First element is awareness. You can’t change anything unless you know it exists. Not all changes are good. Most people see change as an uncomfortable and painful thing that must be done.

The second is understanding. By understanding where your “way of thinking” originates, you can see the change as a helpful thing that should be done.

The third is disassociation. Once you realize that change should be done, you can separate yourself from the pain — based on who you are today, and where you want to be tomorrow.

The last element is reconditioning. You ‘rewrite’ your subconscious on a permanent level — retaining your mind to respond supportively to the change. According to Orson Scott Card, “In order to learn one must change one’s mind.”

2. Change yourself.

Most people want to change their circumstances to improve their lives instead of changing themselves to improve their circumstances. You actually have to change yourself first to improve the circumstances. If you change, your family would change too.

Changing yourself implies that you have to educate yourself intensively (learn a lot of new knowledge), do new things (assume new professions), and manage your time differently (work with irregular working hours), and that you need to persevere because internet home based business does not give you immediate result.

3. Change your role: be the change leader.

You must become a change leader, proactively leading the change. Remember that leader has to go first.

You have to embrace the change. That is what it means to lead. Don’t expect others to take the lead; embrace the change first. So the trick is not to oppose it, but to go with it. Deal with the change head on, instead of avoiding it or pretending it does not exist. As Alan Watts said, “The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.”

You must be optimistic. Always demonstrate positive mental attitude; it will inspire you and your family to go through difficult times.

You must be a role model. The real challenge for the leader is getting over the opposition of those who don’t want to change. By playing the role of a change leader, you show your family the behavior that they should emulate, i.e. embrace the change. People do what people see.

You must recognize and reward. Celebrate with your family for embracing the change; this will encourage them to reinforce their behavior.

4. Change what you do.

In internet home based business you have to do lots of marketing campaigns and advertisements before you get result. You have to do several things over and over and over and over, before you succeed.

On the other hand, Benjamin Franklin said that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. This means that you must be willing to change your way when you realize that it does not produce the result you want.

Internet home based business is an ever-changing world. To make progress, you must change. To be successful, you must change often. Remember what Anthony Robbins said: “We can change our lives. We can do, have and be whatever we wish!”

By recognizing the drastic change it impacts in your life style and coping appropriately and enthusiastically with the change, internet home based business can become a very rewarding experience and income for you which enriches your personal life. As Alfred North Whitehead said, “The art of progress is to preserve order amid change and to preserve change amid order.”
